New luminaire offers T5 fluorescent alternative to discharge lighting in retail, industrial and sports applications

17 June 2004

The new Crompton Linergy luminaire from Cooper Lighting and Security offers a modern, T5 fluorescent alternative to the discharge luminaires that are traditionally used for high-bay and low-bay lighting in retail, industrial and sports-hall applications.

As well as providing benefits such as instant illumination, excellent colour rendering, white light appearance and emergency lighting, Linergy also delivers outstanding efficiency and a light output ratio of 97% thanks to the advanced design of its reflector system.

Utilising 54W T5 fluorescent lamps, Linergy is equipped with high-frequency control gear and comes in a choice of four-lamp and six-lamp models.

By removing a link wire on the terminal block during installation, the luminaire can be configured for separate switching of lamps, allowing different light levels to be selected according to the activity taking place, e.g. working and cleaning periods. The six-lamp model provides a choice of 33%, 66% or 100% light output, and the four-lamp version provides either 50% or 100%.

Supplied with lamps and reflectors already in place, Linergy features a first-fix mounting plate and plug-and-socket connections for ease of installation and maintenance. It is suitable for mounting on ceilings, conduit, chains, rods or trunking, and an optional wire guard is available for sports-hall applications.

The luminaire can be specified with fully integral emergency conversion, providing a 3-hour duration, and Intellem and EasiCheck self-test emergency versions are also available.

Delivering new levels of light quality, Linergy is ideal for use in a wide variety of applications including supermarkets, DIY superstores, warehouses, workshops, light industrial units, exhibition halls and leisure centres.
