The new JSB FX3302/ECO analogue addressable fire alarm system from Cooper Lighting and Security offers advanced features such as soft addressing, zonal architecture and microprocessor-based analogue detectors, but at an installed cost comparable with that of a conventional fire alarm system.
Designed for ease of installation, the FX3302/ECO has a self-learn mode that enables the system to function immediately the power and battery have been connected. Using its soft-addressing facility, the system automatically assignsan address to each device, thereby freeing the contractor from the burden of grappling with the binary number system, which is often associated with analogue addressable fire alarms.
The system then automatically splits the devices into zones depending on the total number of devices found. Zones can also be allocated manually by the simple procedure of testing the detectors and call points and assigning them to the required zone number. Context-sensitive help information appears on the control panel's 80-character LCD display to guide the user through system operation.
Another innovation of the FX3302/ECO is the use of analogue microprocessor-based detectors, which are designed to control their own drift compensation, allowing the control panel to respond rapidly to any event. Every detector also incorporates short-circuit isolators on the input and output circuits, thus eliminating the need to install additional isolators and providing optimum system integrity,
As with any analogue addressable system, the loop wiring of the FX3302/ECO can deliver substantial cost savings through its greatly reduced cabling requirement compared with conventional systems.
Ideal for applications in many types of building up to 30,000m in area, the FX3302/ECO is supplied as a two-loop panel, with sounders either wired on the loops or on to the two dedicated sounder circuits provided. Each loop can accomodate up to 64 addressable devices and 32 loop-wired sounders.
The system is EN54 Pt 2 & 4 compliant and features an integral rechargeable battery providing a stabilised 24V output for 24 hours with two fully loaded loops and a repeater connected.
