New bollard luminaires offer CFL option

The Core Bollard range of luminaires from Cooper Lighting offers an extensive choice of models and lamp options. In addition to the more usual high-output 70W SON and MBIT discharge-lamp types, the range includes a highly efficient energy-saving CFL model, which is also available in a 3-hour maintained emergency version.

Featuring a classical slim design, the Core Bollard provides a stylish yet robust solution for a wide variety of outdoor applications. It can be bolted directly to hard surfaces, mounted in wet poured concrete using the root mounting kit or in soft ground using the root-mount post extension for extra stability.

The main housing is manufactured from die-cast and extruded aluminium with a black powder-coated finish, while a strong UV-stabilised  polycarbonate lens is used to protect the optical section. Available in a choice of dome or flat-top versions, the luminaire can be specified with louvred, reflector or Fresnel optics.

The Core Bollard is externally rated to IP65 and is therefore suitable for use in most environments. On the CFL and emergency versions, the integrity of the high-frequency control gear is further ensured by housing it in an internally mounted IP44-rated chamber.
