Grange Tower Bridge Hotel

Grange Tower Bridge Hotel

Background

Grange Hotels is a leading independent hotel chain, comprising four- and five-star accommodation in the best locations across London. The hotels offer comfort, quality and a range of facilities that is second to none, all skilfully combined with contemporary luxury and attention to detail.

A busy roll-out programme has seen the recent opening of the Grange St Paul’s Hotel – for which Cooper Lighting supplied static inverters to power the emergency lighting in the event of a mains failure – and the construction of the Grange Tower Bridge Hotel, located close to the Tower of London.

The Needs

In order to create the right ambience and maximise energy efficiency, the hotel chain was looking to source a variety of stateof- the-art LED lighting products for the new Grange Tower Bridge Hotel. After having thoroughly evaluated various imported products, Grange decided to opt for higher-quality, UK-sourced fittings instead.

Through its previous dealings with Cooper Lighting at the Grange St Paul’s Hotel, Grange had become aware of the company’s comprehensive line-up of LED-based luminaires and was more than happy to work with Cooper again on the Grange Tower Bridge Hotel.

The Solution

As part of a comprehensive energy-saving solution for the new hotel, Cooper Lighting supplied 1040 of its DL11 LED downlights, nearly 50% of which were equipped with dimming drivers, 372 of its DL8 LED adjustable luminaires, 731 of its DL5 LED adjustable luminaires, and 210 Bijou surface luminaires fitted with low-energy compact fluorescent lamps.

The DL11 uses the latest high-output multi-die LED chip technology to provide a luminaire that serves as a highly efficient replacement for tungsten-halogen downlights. It offers a 50,000 hour life, is virtually maintenance-free and significantly reduces energy consumption. A choice of three high-purity aluminium reflectors ensures that the DL11 luminaire provides controlled light distribution with excellent uniformity and low glare.

The DL8 and DL5 luminaires also offer effective energy-saving solutions, using three high-output LEDs and a single high-output LED respectively.

In addition to these fittings, Cooper Lighting also supplied emergency lighting in the form of 372 Micropoint recessed LED emergency luminaires and 27 Brite Edge LED exit signs, together with 12 compact static inverters.

The Result

The wide range of Cooper Lighting LED fittings installed in the Grange Tower Bridge Hotel will not only help to create an ambience of contemporary luxury but also minimise the building’s ongoing running costs through the use of energy-efficient and maintenance free LED technology.
